A PERSONAL NOTE: First off...thank you SO much for this song, Celine! It is, by far, THE theme song of my life and this project. It provides an un-imaginable amount of hope, wisdom and encouragement in such short verse - it's simply perfect! The last stanza certainly captures "it" for me...and judging by the reactions of those that watch my video...it seems to do "it" for them as well. That "it" is almost impossible to define singularly, yet is amazingly personal - none-the-less it's a connection we ALL share.
For those who have asked: The "Power of the Dream" was the song performed at the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia. It was performed by singer Celine Dion and the Atlanta Youth Symphony and Children's Choir. Music was written by David Foster, Babyface & Linda Thompson. Produced and Arranged by David Foster for Chartmaker Inc. Co-produced by Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds. Mixed by David Reitza.
Here are a few quotations from some who knew the power of the dream:
'As you believe so shall it be.' (Jesus)
'We are what we think, all that arises with our thoughts.' (Buddha)
'A man's life is what his thoughts make of it.' (Marcus Aurelius)
'As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.' (Proverbs 23:7)
'You become what you think about.' (Earl Nightingale)
'With our thoughts we make the world.' (Buddha)
'The ancestor of every action is a thought.' (Emerson)
'Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't, you're right.' (Henry Ford)
Sow a thought, reap an action
sow an action, reap a habit
sow a habit, reap a character
sow a character, reap a destiny. (Ancient Chinese Proverb)
